The History of the Association
SOS Vital France & International was founded on the 18th December 18 2023, by two nurses and two nursing assistants.
The humanitarian association SOS Vital has the following missions:
- To assist vulnerable populations,
- To fight against social inequalities in healthcare while promoting access to medical care and rights,
- To raise awareness about all forms of visible and invisible disabilities, and
- To guide homeless individuals toward health services.
Known by the acronym "SOS Vital" the association is a French, apolitical organization working in the fields of humanitarian emergencies and healthcare.
With legal status, SOS Vital operates throughout the entire French Republic and has a representation in the Republic of Cameroon. The process of obtaining recognition as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Cameroon is nearing completion. The association is already listed and registered with the Embassy of Cameroon in France.
Our Values
1. Objectives
Two categories of objectives are pursued by "SOS Vital": a general objective and specific objectives. The general objective aims to assist populations in vulnerable situations.
The specific objectives aim to:
- Address social health inequalities by promoting access to healthcare and rights;
- Distribute dental kits, birth or pregnancy kits, personal hygiene kits, and first aid kits;
- Prevent and raise awareness about all forms of visible and invisible disabilities;
- Facilitate access to healthcare through the redistribution of medicines, access to education, and health services while respecting the socio-cultural context
2. Vision and Mission
SOS Vital’s vision is to promote access to healthcare and rights through awareness-raising, training, support in prevention, and the development of projects and networks. To this vision, "SOS Vital" adds the mission of assisting the most disadvantaged, disaster-stricken, or war-affected individuals. Its humanitarian vision is to provide vital relief wherever there is a critical need.
Our Projects
The association "SOS Vital," in direct alignment with its primary objective (Assisting populations in vulnerable situations), carried out various activities from May 15 to December 31, 2024. Specifically, it implemented the following initiatives:
The majority of the projects were successfully completed, except for those whose budgets did not yet allow the set objectives to be achieved. The association’s activities were officially launched on September 28, 2024, in the presence of a representative of the Cameroonian authorities. During this event, several guests joined the SOS Vital association, both in France and internationally.
Additionally, it is worth noting that an SOS Vital Cameroon board of directors was established, marking the expansion of the association’s activities on an international scale.
- An open house day and a solidarity sale;
- A solidarity fair aimed at creating an inclusive daycare center in Cameroon;
- The December 2024 Christmas market.
